Five of Michigan’s Top Cardiovascular doctors join the DMC
Mike Duggan, president and CEO of the Detroit Medical Center announced that
effective July 1, five of Michigan's top cardiac physicians will join the DMC to
lead a new cardiovascular program at Harper University Hospital. The physicians
are:
Theodore L. Schreiber, M.D., current vice chief, division of
cardiology, Wm. Beaumont Hospital, and associate director of interventional
cardiology fellowship, St. John Hospital and Medical Center, will join the DMC
as vice president, DMC cardiovascular development and division chief, clinical
cardiology.
Thomas Davis, M.D., current co-director of peripheral intervention at
St. John Hospital will join the DMC as vice chief, clinical cardiology.
Ali Kafi, M.D., a thoracic surgeon and chief of cardiovascular surgery
at St. John Hospital, will become the DMC’s chief, clinical cardiothoracic
surgery.
Narsingh Gupta, M.D., former chief of cardiology at Oakwood Southshore
and former chief of cardiology and director of the cath lab at Henry Ford
Wyandotte will join the DMC as the associate director, cardiac cath lab and
peripheral intervention.
Michele De Gregorio, M.D., current director of the cardiac cath lab at
North Oakland Medical Center and attending cardiologist with privileges at: St.
Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland, St. John Medical Center, Crittenton Hospital,
North Oakland Medical Center and Wm. Beaumont Hospital will become the medical
director for peripheral vascular interventional program at HUH.
